Duties And Responsibilities
- Monitor residence hall entrances and verify resident and visitor identification
- Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols to ensure building security, locked doors, and safe conditions
- Report suspicious activity, safety hazards, or policy violations to the Security Supervisor and NCCU Police
- Complete incident and daily activity reports accurately and submit within required timelines
- Assist in emergency response and evacuation procedures as directed
- Maintain professional demeanor and clear communication with residents, staff, and visitors
- Wear the required uniform and visible identification badge at all times
- Participate in scheduled drills, briefings, and performance review meetings
- U.S. Citizenship/Residency required
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Must be a licensed security professional in accordance with the North Carolina Private Protective Services Board (PPSB) requirements
- Must maintain current First Aid and CPR certifications
- Prior experience as a security guard, watch officer, or campus safety attendant preferred
- Demonstrated ability to perform access control, foot patrols, and incident documentation in residential or educational environments
- Experience responding to incidents and providing customer service in public settings desired
- Trained in campus emergency protocols, de-escalation, and report writing desired
