Job Title: Staff Veterinarian

1.0 Scope of Responsibility:

The person will be responsible for animal health and welfare. Ensure animals are handled and used in humane ways. To ensure company is compliant with state and federal regulations. Ensuring that animal studies are run with the goal of providing consistent, high-quality products and services to our customers.

3.0 Position Requirements:

3.1 Pennsylvania veterinary license3.2 Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a practicing environment.3.3 Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with laboratory animals3.4 Farm animal husbandry background or experience a plus3.5 Good oral and written communication skills (English) and mathematics skills are required3.6 Windows-based computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel3.7 Good organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities3.8 Experience with cGMP quality systems and manufacturing operations3.9 Ability to give directions and communicate effectively

4.0 Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):4.1 Overseeing the Animal Care and Use Program. 4.2 Managing the Program of Veterinary Care. 4.3 Participating and holding voting membership as the Attending/Staff Veterinarian on the Institutional Animal Care and Use Program. 4.4 Assist in preparation of investigation reports as part of the Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) program. 4.5 Provide training for routine clinical procedures and to animal care staff. 4.6 Prescribe and direct all clinical treatments

4.7 Member of Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)4.8 Other duties as assigned.

5.0 Education: 5.1 Minimum of a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris (VMD).5.2 Clean driving record5.3 Ability to travel to other facilities as needed. 6.0 Physical Requirements:6.1 This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching at various times throughout the day. 6.2 Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. 6.3 Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions. 7.0 Working Conditions:7.1 Extremes of temperature, including heat in summer months and cold in winter months. 7.2 While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to extremes in temperature, and occasionally farm equipment. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can vary from minimal to loud.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $150,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
