Key Responsibilities of the Cath Lab Tech
- Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
- Prepare the catheterization laboratory, equipment, and sterile field before procedures
- Operate specialized imaging and monitoring equipment during procedures
- Monitor patient condition and vital signs throughout procedures
- Maintain strict sterile technique and adhere to infection control standards
- Ensure accurate documentation of procedures and patient records
- Support radiation safety practices for patients and staff
- Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and the wider cardiovascular team to deliver exceptional patient care
Requirements of the Cath Lab Tech Role
- Current BLS certification
- Current ARRT certification
- Minimum 2 years of recent Cath Lab Tech experience
- Strong knowledge of cardiac catheterization procedures, imaging equipment, and radiation safety
- Excellent technical, communication, and patient care skills
