ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Provides individual, group, and family counseling to help clients identify and resolve personal substance use disorder issues.
- Utilizes assessment and diagnostic tools and forms to gather information pertaining to client history to assist in developing accurate assessments and treatment planning.
- Maintains accurate documentation of individual, group and family counseling sessions and activities adhering to established regulations and licensure standards.
- Provides information to clients with substance use disorders and related issues through educational sessions which may include presentations, films, chalk talks, etc.
- Consults with client referral sources on issues related to client treatment and therapy progress.
- Provides a variety of indirect client services including writing correspondence on behalf of clients, submitting court reports, and making court appearances, charting medical records, conducting case reviews and treatment planning, making telephone contacts, and monitoring client fees.
- Performs multiple organizational responsibilities including attending and participating in supervisory and staff meetings, performing assigned committee functions, facilitating non-clinical collaboration with other departments, etc.
EDUCATION
- Master’s degree in human services field
- Minimum of four years’ counseling or related experience with individuals with substance use disorders
- Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) credential issued by Kentucky Board of Alcohol and Drug Counselors
- Position has no unusual physical demands.
- May involve occasional exposure to threat of bodily harm from clients or their families.
- May require performing tasks on an unplanned or occasional basis that involve exposure to blood, body fluids or tissue.
