Position Summary:
Bartenders at Seven Beach Lane play a crucial role in providing an exceptional dining experience through friendly and efficient guest service and impeccable order execution. Bartenders work closely with all front- and back-of-house team members to uphold the standards of the bar program and create a welcoming and hospitable atmosphere for all guests.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with standard recipes.
- Ensures the on-going excellence in quality of bar items, as well as speed and efficiency of beverage ticket-times.
- Ensures the techniques specific to each cocktail-build are accurate.
- Reviews identification of all customers to verify they are of legal drinking age.
- Coordinates with the Beverage Manager to compile all bar-related liquor, produce, and dry-goods orders weekly (excluding wine or coffee, unless specific to bar program).
- Performs a monthly beverage inventory on all liquor, beer, N/A beverages, produce, dry goods, glassware, and prepped bar items for the restaurant.
- Helps guests to make selections from food and beverage menus, suggests courses and pairings, explaining any off-menu dishes, and answering all food preparation questions.
- Processes guest orders and payment transactions through Toast POS, ensuring accuracy of checks and cash handling procedures.
- Maintains knowledge of menu items, specials, and any changes in the menu as well as ingredients and preparation methods.
- Upsell additional menu items, beverages, and desserts to increase revenue and enhance guest experience.
- Collaborates with the management team to develop strategies for driving business growth and improving overall service quality.
- Pursues ongoing beverage education, acting as the voice of the bar program during pre-shift meetings and assisting on training sessions with brand representatives.
- Adheres to all Department of Health and safety standards related to food handling, hygiene, and alcohol service.
- Completes opening and closing side work and other duties as assigned by management.
- Attends mandatory meetings
- Adheres to posted schedules.
- Supports all front-of-house team members in providing exceptional guest service.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- 2 years minimum of restaurant service experience in a similar caliber concept
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- TIPS certification required
- High school diploma or GED
- Proficient in a variety of technology systems, especially Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and POS systems.
- Ability to work a variable schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, per the needs of the business
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent time management, organizational skills, and problem-solving skills
- Adaptable in a fast-paced and challenging work environment
- Polished personal presentation that meets Company standards
- Exudes excellence in hospitality both for both guests and other team members
