Art & STEAM Instructor (Part-Time)
We are seeking a creative and energetic Art & STEAM Instructor to lead engaging after-school enrichment programs for students. This position is ideal for educators who are passionate about inspiring creativity, critical thinking, and hands-on learning through visual arts and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics).
Schedule
- Part-time position
- A few afternoons per week
- Program hours: 2:00 PM – 3:45 PM
- Opportunities to teach during the school day may also be available.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead interactive art and STEAM lessons for elementary and middle school students.
- Teach a variety of art techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, and crafts.
- Facilitate hands-on STEAM activities that encourage creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, and innovation.
- Create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Prepare and organize classroom materials and maintain a clean workspace.
- Encourage student participation, creativity, and self-expression.
- Communicate professionally with school staff and program coordinators.
- Ensure the safety and supervision of students throughout the program.
Qualifications
- Experience teaching art, STEAM, education, or youth enrichment programs preferred.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Enthusiastic, dependable, patient, and creative.
- Ability to work independently and adapt lessons for different age groups.
- Background check may be required based on school district requirements.
