Overview

The Accounting Clerk at Sev-Rend will play a crucial role in maintaining the company's financial records, assisting in various accounting functions, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. The Accounting Clerk will work closely with the Accounting Manager and other team members to support the day-to-day financial operations of the company. This is a part time position, with a flexible schedule of 15-20 hours a week. 

Responsibilities 

• Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices and ensure accuracy and completeness. Prepare and issue payments to vendors. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies. Maintain organized records of accounts payable transactions.
• Accounts Receivable: Assist in generating customer invoices and statements. Monitor and follow up on overdue customer payments. Record cash receipts and ensure proper allocation. Maintain accurate records of accounts receivable transactions.
• Data Entry and Record Keeping: Accurately enter financial transactions into the accounting system. Organize and maintain financial records and documentation. Assist in filing, scanning, and archiving accounting documents.
• Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements to ensure accuracy. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues. Maintain a record of all bank transactions.
• Assist in Financial Reporting: Prepare and compile financial data for regular and ad-hoc financial reports. Collaborate with the Accounting Manager on month-end and year-end closing activities.
• General Support: Assist with other finance and accounting tasks as needed. Provide administrative support to the Accounting department. Adhere to company accounting policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in accounting or related field is a plus.
• Previous experience in an accounting or finance role is preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
