Position Summary
The Temporary Recruiter will support full-cycle recruitment efforts for Settlement Housing Fund and New Settlement in collaboration with the HR team and hiring managers. This role will work closely with program directors, supervisors, and business managers to fill vacancies with top talent who are aligned with the organization’s mission and values. The Recruiter will help identify creative sourcing strategies, participate in outreach and community hiring events, and manage the full recruitment process—from job posting through offer letter.
This is a temporary position, ideal for a proactive, organized, and people-oriented individual who is passionate about equity in hiring and community impact.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Facilitate and implement all phases of the recruitment process for a variety of roles across the organization.

Partner with hiring managers to develop job descriptions and tailor outreach strategies based on department needs

Lead intake and strategy meetings with hiring managers to clarify role needs and ideal candidate profiles, while providing guidance on recruitment processes, interviewing techniques, and equitable hiring best practices.

Identify and implement efficient and inclusive recruiting methods and strategies based on the role, organizational goals, and industry trends.

Post open positions on internal platforms, external job boards, and community-based outreach channels to ensure a wide and diverse applicant pool.

Source candidates using job boards, referrals, social media, and professional networks to build a strong and diverse talent pipeline.

Review resumes and conduct phone/virtual interviews to assess qualifications and fit.

Present qualified candidate shortlists to hiring managers and coordinate next steps.

Schedule interviews for pre-screened candidates in coordination with hiring managers and interview panel members.

Draft and send offer letters; assist with pre-employment paperwork and related documentation.

Attend and participate in off-site college job fairs, workforce development events, and other off-site recruiting engagements as needed.

Partner with the COO and HR team on process improvements and recruitment strategy updates.

Provide guidance and training to hiring managers on internal recruitment processes, interviewing techniques, and equitable hiring best practices.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and internal HR policies.

Track and report on recruitment metrics, such as time-to-fill, source effectiveness, and candidate conversion rates.

Support employer branding and recruitment marketing efforts to position the organization as an employer of choice.

Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field OR equivalent relevant work experience.

Minimum of 2 years of professional recruitment experience, including full-cycle hiring.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Experience with HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS); ability to learn new systems quickly.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Familiarity with local and federal employment regulations and best practices.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple open roles and deadlines simultaneously.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.

Experience in a nonprofit setting preferred

Salary : $27 - $30
