The BAS Construction Technician is a key member of the Operations team, responsible for the design assistance, implementation, and commissioning of temperature control systems for high-performance HVAC systems in commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities. This role ensures that projects are delivered with technical precision while adhering to strict safety and documentation standards.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
I. System Design & Project Planning
- Control Systems Design: Assist in developing and maintaining the design of complex temperature control systems and related HVAC products
- Planning & Logistics: Actively participate in project planning and scheduling to ensure milestone delivery
- Documentation: Develop, generate, and maintain all project-specific documentation from inception through completion
- System Start-up: Lead the initial start-up phases for building automation systems
- Checkout & Turnover: Execute rigorous system checkouts and manage the formal turnover process to the client
- Lessons Learned: Participate in post-project reviews to identify improvements for future installations
- Customer Empowerment: Provide comprehensive training to customers to ensure they are self-sustaining in managing their new systems
- Safety Leadership: Adhere strictly to Setpoint Systems and customer-specific safety standards. Proactively provide safety awareness and oversight on all work sites
Required Education and Experience
- Experience: 2 years of professional experience in HVAC systems or specialized technical training
- Interpersonal: Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment with strong leadership and communication skills (both written and oral)
- Industry Knowledge: Direct experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS)
- Integration: Experience acting as or working for a Systems Integrator
- Technical Commitment: Willingness to complete extensive product training (provided by the company)
