The full-time Assistant Dean of Academic Partnerships and Innovation is a senior administrative role responsible for developing, managing, and sustaining strategic educational, community, and industry partnerships that advance Seton Hall University's College of Human Development, Culture, and Media 's mission, student opportunities, and reputation.
Reporting to the Dean, the Assistant Dean leads initiatives to strengthen recruitment and enrollment pipelines, expand clinical, internship, and experiential learning opportunities, support high-profile initiatives that enhance visibility and provide one-of-a-kind experiences that differentiate the CHDCM, and accreditation readiness. The position collaborates closely with campus partners including Undergraduate Admissions, Graduate Affairs, University Advancement, faculty, and external partners to identify and align partnership activities with institutional strategic priorities, accreditation standards, and mentorship efforts, while serving as a key liaison who articulates the College’s vision and fosters mutually beneficial relationships.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute strategies to create, strengthen, and steward partnerships with PreK-12 schools and districts whose programs, clubs, and activities align with the CHDCM portfolio. Closely liaise with Undergraduate Admissions and Graduate Affairs to strengthen CHDCM-specific and supplemental recruitment efforts.
  • Plan and execute strategies to create, strengthen, and steward community, educational, and corporate partnerships that yield non-financial benefits (e.g., technology and equipment) and/or create new and innovative experiential learning and clinical placements for students in the College, including PreK-12 schools as well as industry/corporate partners.
  • Develop, support, and extend high-profile partnerships that elevate the reputation of the College, such as those associated with the Center for Sports Media and WSOU 89.5FM. Leverage relationships with alumni and Dean’s Advisory Council members to enhance student opportunities, including mentorship, internships, and career development.
  • Collaborate with the Dean and other community members to develop and manage entrepreneurial and special programs that enhance the College’s reputation and support fundraising efforts.
  • Develop, support, and extend the College’s student mentorship efforts by strategically strengthening connections with graduates and creating non-financial opportunities for alumni to thoughtfully engage with current students, faculty, and programs.

About the College of Human Development, Culture, and Media:
Launched in Summer 2023, Seton Hall’s College of Human Development, Culture, and Media (CHDCM) embodies the University’s commitment to pedagogical innovation, intellectual ferment, and community engagement. Uniting scholars and students from four dynamic departments — Communication, Media, and the Arts; Education Leadership, Management, and Policy; Educational Studies; and Professional Psychology and Family Therapy — the College is the new home of cutting-edge, transdisciplinary inquiry into the stickiest problems of our time.

The faculty, staff, and students of the College seek to improve the human condition by collaborating across distinct fields that uniquely complement one another—the arts, communication, education, leadership and mental health. Expression underpins all facets of the College’s portfolio — media as a form of education and artistic expression; teaching and learning as modes of creative expression; expression and expressibility as critical to counseling and therapeutic treatment; and self-expression as a vehicle of social agency. With enrollment at approximately 1,550 total students, both graduate and undergraduate, CHDCM is the second largest college at Seton Hall University, with approximately 70 full time faculty and 125 adjunct faculty.
