What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler - 2nd Shift position at Setex Inc?
Utilize various types of material handling equipment to move material, including finished seat sets, in an out of trailers and to the appropriate locations. All while committing to continuous improvement, by working in a team-oriented environment, to achieve Setex’s common goals.
Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to pass the Setex forklift operator test.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks.
- Must be willing and available to work scheduled shift.
- Must be willing and available to work full time and overtime as needed.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds on a regular basis.
- Verify incoming material for part numbers and quantity against packing and inspection list.
- Perform lot control on incoming material.
- Assist in the investigation of inventory errors and discrepancies.
- Operate industrial power equipment to transport material to and from appropriate lines, cells, stock locations, or trailers.
- Perform cycle counts under direction of the Materials Department.
- Load and unload trailers in a timely manner.
- Complete daily forklift checklist.
- Manage and document movement of material out of safety stock.
- Notify Material Supervisor or Material Analyst of unusual inventory levels.
- Rotate Safety Stock.
- Maintain First In First Out (FIFO) methods.
- Has authority to stop production if a quality or safety concern is noticed – Stop, Call, Wait.
- Commit to continuous improvement of products and services.
- Maintain a 5-S environment; Separate & Scrap, Sort, Scrub, Standardize, and Systematize.
- Maintaining a safe and productive work setting.
- Comply with Personal Protective Equipment requirements, safety glasses, gloves, and earplugs. All provided by Setex.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Team Leader, Materials Supervisor, and/or Materials Manager.
Qualifications:
- Previous material department experience preferred, but not necessary.
- Must be able to perform each essential duties listed above satisfactorily.
- Ability to read and interpret standard operating procedures (SOP) and documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
- Ability to display skills in manufacturing processes, including operating and maintaining equipment.
- Demonstrate and maintain respectful behavior.
