Facilities Caretaker

Job Overview

The Facilities Caretaker is responsible for helping keep the Session facility running smoothly. This includes fixing things around the gym, doing basic repairs, and helping make improvements when needed. You’ll work closely with the General and Operations Manager to keep things safe, clean, and in good shape for the community.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Repairs

• Perform day-to-day general maintenance and minor repairs around the gym
• Help fix broken items like doors, lockers, walls, or lights
• Assist with basic upkeep of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
• Monitor and restock tools, materials, and cleaning supplies
  
  

Facility Care

• Regularly inspect areas to make sure things are safe and working
• Help with simple improvements like painting, patching, or rearranging equipment
• Keep shared spaces like bathrooms and utility rooms tidy and functional
• Set up for special events when needed
  
  

Team Support & Safety

• Work with gym staff to help with small projects or quick fixes
• Follow safety practices and report any serious issues to management
• Support emergency preparedness and safety checks
  
  

Communication & Scheduling

• Keep in touch with the General Manager about ongoing maintenance needs
• Let team members know when work may affect gym areas or schedule
• Help track maintenance tasks and keep a simple log
  
  

Requirements

Qualifications

• General experience in maintenance, repair, or construction work
• Comfortable using tools and working with basic building systems
• Organized and able to manage time effectively
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Self-motivated with a positive, problem-solving attitude
  
  

Working Conditions

• Flexible schedule with availability for occasional weekends or evenings
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders
