Senior Product Manager, Payroll

Seso Inc.
San Francisco, CA Full Time
POSTED ON 5/23/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 6/21/2026
American farmers have made tremendous technology advancements through hardware improvements and investments in precision agriculture. However, when it comes to the back-office, most farms are decades behind, relying on spreadsheets, filing cabinets, and decades-old on-prem software to recruit, manage, and pay their workforce. Seso is addressing this problem by modernizing the back-office for the farm.

Our mission is to build the premier platform for agribusiness to hire and manage their workforce and improve the lives of agricultural workers. We are addressing American farmers' biggest pain point - access to qualified labor - through a software-enabled labor solution that automates the H-2A visa. Our comprehensive HR platform streamlines and automates the hiring process for farms and seamlessly integrates their efforts across recruitment, onboarding, payroll, and insurance while providing workers access to financial services for the first time.

Seso has raised over $60M from Tier I investors including Index, Founders Fund, and Mary Meeker at Bond, and has been recognized with awards including Forbes Rising Stars and Andreessen Horowitz's American Dynamism 50.

About the Role

Seso's modern platform provides employers with orders of magnitude increases in efficiency, while helping them stay compliant and communicate with their workforce. We're looking for a senior Product Manager - Payroll to own new initiatives for Seso's Payroll platform, which powers core workflows across pay calculation, earnings and deductions, compliance, approvals, reporting, and payroll operations.

You will be responsible for driving business outcomes related to our payroll product and helping shape one of the most critical systems in our platform. This means working at a high level to solve important company and customer problems, while also diving deep into the operational, technical, and compliance details that make payroll work. Your team will regularly ship software that improves accuracy, efficiency, and trust for employers and workers, and you will regularly interact with customers and internal operators to understand their needs firsthand.

Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver against company-level business objectives related to payroll growth, product adoption, operational efficiency, and customer success
  • Define and drive the product strategy and roadmap for key areas of Seso's payroll platform
  • Work closely with design, engineering, payroll operations, implementations, support, and revenue stakeholders to build cohesive and scalable payroll solutions
  • Translating ambiguous or complex ideas into clear, executable projects
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer payroll workflows, pain points, and edge cases across a wide variety of agricultural employers
  • Combining qualitative research with quantitative analysis to inform product decisions
  • Owning and driving the product lifecycle from ideation through implementation and launch

Skillset

You may be a good fit for this role if:

  • You have 5 years of experience as a product manager
  • You have 3 years of experience working on payroll products or highly related payroll workflows
  • You're a structured problem-solver with an interest in improving the lives of agricultural farmworkers and the viability of the agriculture industry
  • You are interested in autonomously owning a roadmap
  • You like talking to customers and can quickly build credibility and trust
  • You have a strong track record of delivering key business results

Benefits

  • Talented and fun teammates who don't take themselves too seriously
  • Competitive Salary and meaningful equity
  • Excellent medical and dental insurance plans
  • Flexible work schedule and unlimited vacation
  • Budget and support for personal development
  • Last week of the year off for company wide winter break
  • Company sponsored team events
