Responsibilities
- Review and interpret medical records to accurately assign DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, and ICD-10 codes for billing purposes.
- Prepare and submit insurance claims electronically using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) and EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems, ensuring compliance with payer requirements.
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective medical collection strategies, including resubmission or appeals.
- Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility prior to service delivery to facilitate smooth billing processes.
- Maintain detailed documentation of medical records, billing transactions, and correspondence related to claims and collections.
- Collaborate with medical office staff to ensure accurate entry of medical terminology and records into billing systems.

Requirements
