What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dancer, Performer II position at Sesame Place Philadelphia?

Are you a real character and do you have real character? Would you love to bring iconic characters to life while also bringing joy and laughter to the lives of others? We have fun and exciting opportunities for energetic, enthusiastic individuals to join us as Costume Characters.

Auditions will be held on Sunday, January 23rd, 2022 at 9:00am-11:00am at Sesame Place, 100 Sesame Rd., Langhorne, PA 19047 at our Human Resources Building.

What you get to do:
  • Provide exemplary service to guests and team members
  • Host shows in all theaters, encourage audience participation, ensure both guest and team member safety
  • Maintain cleanliness, crowd control and guest safety in all venues
  • Perform in parade both in and out of character costumes
  • Perform in various character costumes while entertaining guests during walks
  • Performs warm-up on individual basis to insure performance without injury
  • Develops skills/knowledge to maintain excellent quality show/appearance
  • Follows through on performance notes to ensure progress in specific areas
  • Escort costume characters during walk
  • Assist those in character costumes with dressing and undressing
  • Perform and complete assigned tasks from management as needed
  • Consistently practice safe work habits including, but not limited to use of personal protective equipment, lifting and reporting of unsafe situations
  • Maintains a professional appearance that meets SEA grooming standards
  • Assist in the daily operational aspects of assigned show, reporting prop/costume repairs in a timely manner.
  • Works with cast/crew and management to maintain the integrity of the show

What it takes to succeed:
  • Stay "guest friendly" at all times
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions in costume
  • Demonstrate ability to perform in casted role during the audition process
  • Be available for all rehearsal and performance dates
  • Ability to lift, bend, push or pull 45 lbs.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining a positive attitude to ensure excellent guest service
  • Provide excellent service to guests and team members.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and work for prolonged periods of time in extreme weather conditions
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to include weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays February 1st, 2021 through January 9th, 2022
  • Holidays are not guaranteed time off. Team Members will be staffed on a business need first. We are open all major holidays including Christmas Day.
  • Willingness to comply with all SEA grooming guidelines and employment standards
  • All Team Members are required to wear a facial covering during all trainings, rehearsals and scheduled shifts.

  • Ability to successfully complete all legal, company and department training requirements to include but not limited to passing required tests and certifications within established timelines
