VP of Field Operations

SERVPRO Team Shaw
Grapevine, TX Full Time
POSTED ON 10/2/2026 CLOSED ON 10/15/2026

What are the responsibilities and job description for the VP of Field Operations position at SERVPRO Team Shaw?

SERVPRO Team Shaw is one of the largest SERVPRO franchise organizations in the country, having grown from one location in 2020 to 33 locations today across three major markets (Beaufort, Houston, and DFW).

We have assisted over 5,000 customers with water and fire emergencies nationwide. We are a full turnkey provider for our customers, doing everything from water and fire emergency services, moving and storage of contents, and textile cleaning all the way to reconstruction. We were recently ranked the #60 fastest-growing private restoration/construction company in the country by INC 5000, and growth opportunities continue to arise across commercial large loss, fire damage restoration, asbestos and mold removal, and more.

POSITION SUMMARY The VP of Operations owns performance across all SERVPRO Team Shaw markets — mitigation, reconstruction, and contents — with enterprise-level P&L responsibility. This role sits above the individual General Managers, setting the operating standard, holding markets accountable to it, and building the systems, staffing, and processes that let the company keep scaling without losing margin or quality.

The ideal candidate is a multi-unit operator — someone who has run more than one P&L at once, knows how to standardize a playbook across markets without flattening what makes each one work, and can develop a bench of GMs capable of running their markets independently. You will balance growth, consistency, and profitability across territories while building the next layer of operational leadership.

If you have a sense of urgency and want to grow with a company that has seen 5x growth over the last two years, look no further and apply today! We're seeking a strong communicator with excellent analytical skills, sharp attention to detail, and a track record of holding multiple teams across multiple markets accountable to results. Our idea of the ultimate candidate is proactive, experienced, financially disciplined, and truly enjoys developing leaders while driving operational excellence at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Ownership (P&L)

  • Own consolidated P&L performance across all markets — revenue, gross margin, COGS, overhead, and net operating income — and deliver against budget every month.
  • Build and manage the company-wide annual operating budget and rolling forecasts; roll up market-level variances and drive corrective action plans across GMs.
  • Monitor job costing, labor and material spend, subcontractor costs, equipment utilization, and margin performance by service line, by market, and by job, benchmarking markets against each other to surface best practices and underperformance.
  • Oversee working capital across the portfolio: accounts receivable, collections, WIP, over/under billings, and job close-out timelines.
  • Approve purchases, subcontractor agreements, change orders, and capital requests above GM authority levels.
  • Analyze financial and production reports across the enterprise and present performance updates, root-cause analysis, and improvement plans to executive leadership and ownership.

Operations — Mitigation & Construction, Multi-Market

  • Oversee all operations across water, fire, contents, and reconstruction service lines across every market, ensuring jobs are executed safely, efficiently, and to SERVPRO and IICRC standards.
  • Standardize the reconstruction/construction playbook across markets — estimating, scoping, permitting, subcontractor management, scheduling, quality control, punch list, and warranty work — while allowing for market-specific conditions.
  • Build and oversee the subcontractor base strategy across markets — recruiting, vetting, insurance and licensing compliance, pricing agreements, and performance scorecards.
  • Set the standard for the mitigation-to-reconstruction handoff and hold every market accountable to it to protect cycle time, margin, and the customer experience.
  • Own labor strategy across the enterprise — staffing models, org structure, and workload distribution across GMs, Project Managers, Construction Managers, crew chiefs, and technicians.
  • Oversee production and construction scheduling visibility across all active markets, identifying cross-market resourcing opportunities and resolving systemic bottlenecks.
  • Monitor job cycle time and WIP reports at the portfolio level; intervene directly on aging or at-risk markets or jobs.
  • Set documentation and estimating standards (Xactimate/Xactanalysis) and audit market-level compliance for accuracy, completeness, and margin.
  • Oversee equipment, vehicle, and inventory strategy across markets, coordinating with Facilities and Fleet.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, OSHA standards, building codes, licensing requirements, and SERVPRO job documentation systems (WorkCenter, DryBook) company-wide.

Leadership & Growth

  • Directly manage and develop General Managers across all markets; set KPIs, conduct regular performance reviews, and hold each market accountable to financial, production, quality, and customer satisfaction targets.
  • Build the leadership pipeline — training, coaching, and succession planning for GMs and the layer below them, including IICRC certification pathways and career progression frameworks.
  • Lead recruiting, onboarding, and retention strategy for market leadership as the company grows into new territories.
  • Partner with sales, marketing, and claims leadership to align production and construction capacity company-wide with the sales pipeline and customer commitments; support business development with key accounts, adjusters, and commercial clients at the enterprise level.
  • Drive growth strategy across specialty service lines — commercial large loss, fire damage restoration, asbestos/mold removal, and reconstruction — and identify new market expansion opportunities.
  • Serve as the executive escalation point for customer, adjuster, and subcontractor issues that exceed GM authority, stepping in personally to protect customer satisfaction and the company's reputation.
  • Champion a strong safety culture across every job site, in every market.

Compensation & Schedule Competitive base salary with performance-based bonus tied to consolidated P&L results, plus vehicle. Availability for overtime, on-call hours, and multi-market travel required during peak demand or emergency responses.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 8–10 years of experience in restoration, construction, or property services, including at least 5 years in a senior operations or general management role, with direct experience managing multiple locations or P&Ls simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ownership of a consolidated, multi-unit P&L with accountability for revenue and margin results across markets.
  • Experience overseeing both restoration/mitigation and construction or reconstruction operations at scale.
  • Strong leadership skills with proven experience managing and developing other managers (GMs or equivalent), not just individual contributors or single-site teams.
  • Working knowledge of production scheduling, job costing, estimating, and subcontractor management, with experience standardizing these across multiple sites.
  • Strong financial acumen — able to read and act on consolidated P&Ls, WIP reports, and job cost reports across markets.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Proficiency with job-tracking/production software and Microsoft Office/Excel.
  • Ability to travel regularly across all assigned market locations.
  • Availability for on-call rotation, evenings, weekends, or overtime as needed during peak demand or emergency response.

Preferred

  • IICRC certification(s) in Water Damage Restoration, Fire/Smoke Restoration, or related areas.
  • Experience with SERVPRO job documentation systems (WorkCenter, DryBook, Xactimate/Xactanalysis).
  • Experience with commercial large loss, fire, mold/asbestos, or reconstruction service lines.
  • General contractor's license or experience operating under one.
  • Prior experience as a multi-unit VP of Operations, Regional Director, or similar role overseeing multiple General Managers.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, business, or a related field.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs. as needed for job site visits and inspections.
  • Ability to travel to multiple markets and job sites regularly.
  • Comfortable working in active construction and restoration environments, indoors and outdoors.

Benefits

  • Medical, Dental, Vision
  • Paid Time Off
  • Sick Paid Time Off
  • Matching 401(k)
  • Competitive compensation
  • Personal development opportunities
