Role Description The Restoration Technician role is a full-time, on-site position based in Salem, VA. This role involves responding to water and fire damage events, performing mitigation and clean-up, setting up and monitoring drying equipment, and assisting with demolition and restoration activities as needed. The technician documents conditions and progress with photos and written reports, follows safety and industry guidelines, and supports team members on various job sites. Day-to-day work includes communicating with crew leaders, interacting professionally with customers, maintaining tools and vehicles, and ensuring work areas are clean, organized, and ready for the next assignment.
Qualifications
- Experience or strong aptitude in water-related restoration, including Water Damage and Water Damage Restoration.
- Knowledge of mitigation techniques and best practices, including Mitigation and related field procedures.
- Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with team members, supervisors, and customers, demonstrating strong Communication skills.
- Familiarity with environmental concerns and basic safety and containment practices.
- Willingness to perform physical work (lifting, bending, standing for extended periods) in varied indoor and outdoor conditions.
- Attention to detail in documentation, jobsite cleanliness, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Reliable transportation to the Roanoke, VA location and surrounding service areas, with flexibility for occasional overtime or on-call work.
- High school diploma or equivalent; restoration or construction experience and IICRC certifications are a plus.
