SUMMARY:
Identify opportunities in entire organization for improvements and execute Operational Excellence and Process Improvement/Best Practices.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and implement continuous improvement activities.
- Assist personnel in maintaining safety, quality, and efficient production.
- Assist personnel in the coordination of product/items, manufacturing in accordance with policies, principles, and established procedures.
- Develops and implements plans for efficient item setup, run ability for all converting activities as well as employee knowledge
- Train workforce on procedures and operating systems
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Additional duties as assigned by management.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED. College and/or appropriate technical courses are a plus.
- Minimum of ten years converting experience
- Minimum of five years management experience
- Working knowledge of graphic and process printing
- Working knowledge of all converting machines
- Understanding of plant operations as they pertain to business growth
- Training and troubleshooting experience
- Lean manufacturing
- Plant superintendent or Plant manager experience
- Candidate must be highly self-motivated and safety conscience.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
The individual must have a working knowledge of the following:
- Equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation.
- Cost issues in order to make daily decisions that will reduce overall cost.
- Quality standards.
- Knowledge of Regulatory requirements for local, state and federal requirements
