Position: Reconstruction Technician / Skilled Carpenter
About Us
We are a growing restoration company specializing in helping homeowners recover from water, fire, mold, and storm damage. We are looking for a dependable, skilled Reconstruction Technician to join our team and perform high-quality residential repairs and rebuilds.
Job Summary
The Reconstruction Technician will be responsible for completing residential reconstruction projects from start to finish. This position requires experience in multiple trades and the ability to work independently while maintaining excellent craftsmanship and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Hang, tape, texture, and finish drywall.
- Perform finish and rough carpentry, including trim, doors, baseboards, cabinets, and framing repairs.
- Prepare and paint interior and exterior surfaces.
- Complete basic plumbing repairs and fixture installations.
- Perform minor electrical work such as replacing switches, outlets, and light fixtures (where permitted by law).
- Install flooring, including LVP, laminate, tile, and carpet repairs.
- Install and repair windows, doors, and hardware.
- Complete punch-list items and final touch-ups.
- Read work orders and communicate project progress with management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
- Provide excellent customer service while working in occupied homes.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and job-site equipment.
Qualifications
- 5 years of residential remodeling or reconstruction experience preferred.
- Strong skills in drywall, carpentry, painting, and general home repairs.
- Experience with multiple trades is required.
- Ability to work independently and solve problems in the field.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in insurance restoration or reconstruction.
- Knowledge of building codes and residential construction practices.
- IICRC certifications are a plus but not required.
