Position Summary:
The Value Stream Manager executes and oversees overall value stream performance within the value stream for which they are responsible. This includes identifying and capturing the KPI’s and metrics that will be used to continuously improve the value stream. This also includes understanding all the activities and processes within the value stream in order to identify opportunities for improvement, monitoring value stream metrics, identifying bottlenecks, and leading continuous improvement of the value stream. They will also partner with other groups within the Company including Engineering, Quality, Sales, Accounting, and Human Resources to plan and meet organizational needs.
What Sets You Apart:
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, business administration, operations management, or related field with seven plus years of experience in manufacturing is required.
- Master’s of Business Administration or advanced engineering degree is preferred.
- 5 year’s operations or engineering management experience is preferred.
- Leadership certifications, demonstrated project management, and Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques experience is strongly preferred.
- Ability to effectively interact with customers, employees and vendors to ensure winwin change and increased value are sustained.
- Strong capacity for systems thinking, leadership, collaboration, follow through, analytical and performance focus competencies are required.
- Prior experience in manufacturing assembly / test and machining is strongly preferred.
- Works in a fastpaced manufacturing environment, often requiring frequent movement.
- Excellent computer skills with strong proficiency in Windows, MS Office, and project management software is required.
What You Will Do:
- Ensure that all personnel working under your supervision adhere and fully comply with the Company Values and Company’s Code of Conduct and ethics.
- Ensures the Safety of all team members, reporting all accidents, injuries and near misses timely. Engages the team to identify opportunities for Safety improvements. Assures proper PPE is utilized per requirements and proactively audits for at risk behaviors or conditions. Clearly communicates Safety expectations and policies.
- Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions. Clearly communicates these requirements and ensures team members adhere to documented job instructions and quality specifications.
- Audits team members to ensure components are correctly and completely machined in accordance with engineering BOM, drawing requirements and quality plans.
- Adjust resources as necessary to meet machine shop schedules and optimize work flow through the machine shop. Ensures sufficient resources are available to complete tasks in the time frame required.
- Assist production employees with troubleshooting and solving production problems on CNC equipment in a timely manner.
- Recognize, deploy and properly implements fixtures and tooling improvements.
- Supervise the daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery.
- Assists in the organization and maintenance of the machine shop work environment.
- Make recommendations for improvements to work processes and train operators in machining processes.
- Provides constant feedback and input into process improvement.
- May train staff on assigned processes and inspections and ensure adherence through process auditing.
- Identifies opportunities for improvement and prioritized problem solving to meet production schedules and optimize work flow.
- Responsible for staff management and development including assigning and directing work, appraising performance, hiring, training and retention, coaching and addressing associate relations.
- Manage the organization and maintenance of shift work environment.
- Facilitates scheduled meetings and actively participates by providing meaningful guidance to the machine shop staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Adequate physical ability including sufficient manual dexterity to perform the requisite manufacturing duties. Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some heavy lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.
