World Language Teacher (Anticipated) – Sanford Middle School

Sanford Middle School is seeking qualified candidates for an anticipated full-time World Language Teacher position, pending final approval of the 2026–2027 school budget. This position will be part of the school's Allied Arts team and serve students in Grades 6, 7, and 8.

We are looking for an educator who is passionate about language instruction and cultural exploration, and who is committed to engaging middle school learners in meaningful and interactive ways.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage students with world language options for students in grades 6–8 (preference for Spanish and/or French)
• Help students develop foundational skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in a new language
• Introduce and explore cultural aspects of other world regions
• Create an engaging and supportive classroom environment that promotes language acquisition
• Collaborate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
• Contribute positively as a member of the Allied Arts team
  
  

Qualifications:

• Appropriate teaching certification required
• Background in world language and culture
• Bilingual or fluency in another language is beneficial, but not required
• Experience working with multilingual learners is beneficial, but not required
• Experience working with middle school students
• Experience with sign language is a plus
• Demonstrates patience, kindness, and compassion
• Strong collaboration skills and commitment to being a team player
