Special Education Teacher K-5 Functional Life Skills Program for the 2026-2027 School Year

Winthrop Public Schools seeks a dynamic and innovative full-time K-5 Special Education Life Skills Program Teacher with relevant experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide instruction and support for students with a range of disabilities who require a structured and individualized learning environment. This position involves delivering specially designed instruction (SDI) in academic, functional, and behavioral skills while ensuring students have access to the general education curriculum to the maximum extent appropriate.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Experience in inclusive programming, positive behavior plans, and working with students with autism spectrum disorders
• Flexibility necessary to program for students with cognitive, emotional, and behavioral needs
• Ability to collect and utilize academic and behavioral data to drive instruction and daily living skills curriculum
• Ability to supervise and collaborate with educational technicians
• Current Safety Care Authorization (or can be trained by the district)
• Current Maine Grade K-8 Teacher of Students with Disabilities Certification
