Social Worker - General Education, Long-term: August - December 2026 - Sanford Pride Elementary 999

Sanford Pride Elementary School seeks a collaborative, data-driven general education social worker to provide social-emotional and behavioral support to students. The social worker will work with students in groups and individually to promote wellbeing, healthy relationships, positive school climate, and academic success.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based social-emotional and behavioral interventions to students, both in groups and individually
• Collect and analyze data on student needs, intervention effectiveness, climate and more to inform decision making
• Partner with teachers, administrators, parents and community providers to coordinate student support
• Refer and connect students and families to school and community resources as needed
• Maintain accurate records, follow ethical guidelines for practice, and engage in ongoing professional learning
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work
• Valid school social work certification/license for Maine
• Training and experience providing social-emotional/behavioral interventions
• Knowledge of child development, trauma-informed practices, PBIS and restorative practices
• Strong data analysis, collaboration and communication skills
  
  

Sanford Pride is a PreK - Grade 4 school located in the heart of Sanford, Maine. In addition to district curriculum and programs, our school has a service dog program that serves all students and adults. Our community also has a greenhouse and an outdoor classroom.
