Job Requirements – This Position Requires An Individual With
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Adherence to strict standards of confidentiality regarding all information for students and staff
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar applications
- Willingness and capacity to learn new related skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, meet deadlines, and work under pressure
- Ability to both take initiative and work independently, and collaborate as a vital team member
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic, and maintain a positive, friendly, customer service-oriented attitude
- Experience with PowerSchool or similar student information system ideal, but not required
Performance responsibilities -- Tasks for this position include but are not limited to:
- Creating and maintaining student records, both electronic and hard copy files
- Ensuring that all academic records are current and accurate
- Submitting state-required data as scheduled
- Entering all changes to student information, including schedule changes and course adjustments
- Verifying and making changes to transcripts/historical grades as appropriate
- Maintaining office hours to provide walk-in, telephone, and electronic services for enrollment and registration of students at all grade levels
- Providing accurate information regarding various methods of enrollment
- Overseeing the maintenance and integrity of student academic records, including auditing report cards and transcripts
- Processing requests for dissemination of Thornton Academy transcripts and official records
- Coordinating new student intake
- Completing ongoing evaluation of all incoming transcripts, both domestic and international
- Consulting and collaborating with others as needed (e.g., ELL teachers, admission personnel, international school counselors)
- Coordinating with campus offices/departments as appropriate (e.g., Special Education, Student Services, School Counseling, Admissions)
- Providing PowerSchool support for faculty and staff as needed
- Completing other tasks, learning new functions, and providing reinforcement and/or support in other offices as needed and assigned by administration to ensure smooth institutional operation and support the mission of the school
