Essential Functions
- Exhibit passion and a commitment to helping all students learn at a high level and foster an appreciation for the visual arts.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of visual arts content and pedagogy at the elementary level.
- Plan and teach units of instruction that address MSAD No. 75 learning goals and provide a diverse range of art experiences.
- Utilize effective classroom management and student engagement practices.
- Collaborate with school and district colleagues to showcase student artwork.
- Use skills to communicate successfully with students, colleagues and families.
- Contribute to a school culture of appreciation, collegiality and innovation.
- All other non-teaching duties per negotiated contract.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Art, Elementary Education or degree as applicable.
- State of Maine Department of Education Teacher Certification (620) PreK-12 Visual Arts required.
- State of Maine Department of Education background check (CHRC) authorization.
- Commitment to continuous self-improvement and learning.
- Experience with Marzano’s elements of effective teaching practice preferred.
