Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Heating Air Conditioning Service Technician role based in the Columbia, South Carolina Metropolitan Area. The technician will diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of commercial, industrial, and residential HVAC systems, including furnaces, heat pumps, air conditioning units, and related components. Daily responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting system issues, replacing parts, verifying system performance, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The role also involves communicating clearly with customers, explaining findings and recommended repairs, documenting work performed, and coordinating with dispatch and team members to complete service calls efficiently. Technicians are expected to uphold company standards for professionalism, customer satisfaction, and safe work practices in the field.
Qualifications
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to accurately diagnose HVAC system issues in commercial, industrial, and residential settings.
- Hands-on experience with maintenance & repair and preventive maintenance for heating and air conditioning equipment.
- Commitment to customer satisfaction, with professional communication and a focus on safety and quality service.
- Current EPA certification (or ability to obtain) for handling refrigerants and adherence to environmental regulations.
- Relevant HVAC technical training or apprenticeship; state or local HVAC license or certification preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
- Physical ability to work in varied conditions (heights, confined spaces, seasonal temperatures) and lift moderate to heavy equipment as needed.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation to job sites.
- Strong problem-solving skills, punctuality, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
