Primary Location NSW - Rockdale Job Description Summary ConnectSydney is on the hunt for an experienced Civil Maintenance Manager to join us at our Rockdale office! About the Role ConnectSydney, a joint venture of ServiceStream, Boral, and Johnson Controls, in partnership with Transport for NSW (TfNSW), is entrusted with the management of the Harbour Zone. Our responsibilities encompass routine maintenance, strategic enhancements, and specialised projects aimed at bolstering Sydney's transport infrastructure. The Civil Maintenance Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the formation; documentation and estimation of work methodology pertaining to the construction and maintenance (Routine and Reactive) of all assets. Additionally, the position will be called upon to oversee large site maintenance activities and oversee new and upgrade works. Please note that the Civil Maintenance Manager will be expected to work across varying day and night shifts, depending on the needs of the business. Key Responsibilities: Manage the daily on-site work of multiple team leads, sub-contractors and supply chain in the civil portfolio. Develop and implement short-term operational programmes and execute medium-term programmes to monitor and report on construction and maintenance progress against programmes. Lead the daily delivery of civil maintenance activities across the Harbour Zone, managing Supervisors, Team Leaders, subcontractors and supply chain partners. Collaborate with Asset Management, Operations, Planning and TfNSW stakeholders to develop and implement maintenance programs aligned with network requirements. Ongoing input into development of network improvement strategies, works programs and manuals Providing input to weekly and monthly program level progress and performance reports to TfNSW Ensures all maintenance and construction staff and subcontractors are aware of their obligations in dealing with members of the public and the media Manage maintenance budgets, productivity and resource utilisation to ensure efficient and effective service delivery. Provide support and guidance at a subject matter expert level to the Estimating team in pricing additional works, including special projects Drive construction performance through efficiencies in construction processes and methodologies Ensure supervision and inspection of daily work of field services teams and sub-contractors to ensure works are undertaken to documented procedures and in accordance with quality standards. Manage relevant quality assurance and operational documentation for management to support informed decision making. Review, create and implement strategies that increase the efficiencies of field works and project delivery. Contribute toward the continuous improvement of all aspects of our business systems, policies and procedure. Provide input into network improvement strategies, annual maintenance plans, lifecycle renewal programs and Transport Asset Management Plans (TAMPs). About You: Preference for a recognised trade and or engineering qualification, or a lesser skill level with a high level of demonstrated relevant experience Minimum 10 years experience in a management role An absolute commitment to work safety, comply with all site safety standards Strong understanding of the delivery of maintenance and construction practices within the Transport for NSW (and predecessors) environment Demonstrated experience leading maintenance operations within roads, tunnels, motorways, bridges or other critical infrastructure environments. Proven ability to lead large multidisciplinary teams and contractors in a 24/7 operational environment. Strong understanding of asset management principles, risk-based maintenance and lifecycle planning. Experience developing maintenance strategies, forecasting workloads and managing operational budgets. Strong stakeholder management skills, including experience working with government clients and asset owners. Ability to translate network performance requirements into practical maintenance delivery outcomes. Experience driving operational improvement, workforce capability development and performance management initiatives.
