S:US is seeking a Employment Specialist for their adult families shelter in Manhattan.
Location: E. 31st Street New York, NY 10016
The Employment Specialist provides vocational services and consultation as a member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Familiar with Federal, State and Local laws and regulations as they apply to the community residence program and agency policies
- Provides vocational services and consultation as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. visits clients in their home and other settings required.
- Familiar with OMH regulations
- Responsible for integrating vocational goals and services
- Provides aid and assistance through all phases of the vocational service provision
- Performing routine clinical services as a member of the Team
- Responsible for charting client services
- Responsible Vocational portion or all of creating the service plan
- Responsible for integrating vocational goals and services with the tasks of all the team members
- Responsible for ensuring revisions to the plan as the participant’s needs change
- Advocating for the rights and preferences of the participant whenever possible
- Responsible for creating a monthly spreadsheet with names of tenants and their employment status
- Follow-up quarterly with all employed tenants
- Assist with making monthly contact with tenant as needed
- Participate in bi-weekly monthly meeting
- Participate in monthly supervision to address any work-related tasks or concerns
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- Associates degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, to assist adults of diverse ethnicities, backgrounds, ages, and sexual preferences.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Evening hours are required.
