We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Permitting Specialist to join our team in the window and door industry. Responsibilities
- Manage the entire permitting process for window and door installation projects, from application submission to approval receipt.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and local authorities to gather required documentation and ensure timely permit approvals.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all permits, correspondence, and compliance documentation for audit readiness.
- Monitor changes in building codes, OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), and other relevant regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external agencies to resolve permit issues promptly and accurately.
- Review project plans for regulatory adherence, including safety standards such as OSHA and EPA guidelines.
- Assist in conducting site inspections to verify ongoing compliance with permits, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in permitting within the construction or manufacturing industry, preferably in the window and door sector.
- Strong knowledge of local building codes, OSHA safety standards, EPA environmental regulations, HIPAA (if applicable), CPR, First Aid, and Vital Signs monitoring.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with government agencies, contractors, and team members.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple permits simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines.
- Familiarity with compliance management systems and documentation procedures.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and project plans for regulatory compliance purposes.
- Relevant certifications such as OSHA certification or First Aid/CPR training are highly desirable.
