At the Rooster Cafe, trainees develop expertise in:
- Menu and recipe development.
- Food preparation and kitchen safety.
- Quality, Customer service and cash handling
- Planning and problem-solving
- Punctuality, hygiene, and teamwork.
- Work alongside café workers to guide and support them in various aspects of their daily work.
- Supervise, coach and mentor culinary trainees and develop their skills related to properly performing work tasks while furthering their culinary education.
- Working with culinary trainees and staff to develop problem solving strategies to facilitate continued growth.
- Collaborate with other staff on the team to provide the best therapeutic work environment.
- Help foster individuals holistically and give them a sense of accomplishment while working in a professional environment.
- Experience in culinary arts, food service, or hospitality.
- Passionate about mentoring individuals with autism and developmental disabilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with a diverse team.
- Knowledgeable in food safety regulations and ServSafe certified (or willing to obtain)
- Have and maintain a valid Driver’s License for a minimum of 6 months with an acceptable driving record.
- Comfortable with using personal vehicle or driving a company vehicle for transportation tasks.
