What are the responsibilities and job description for the Restoration Technician position at ServiceMaster NCR?
ServiceMaster NCR is hiring a motivated and dependable Restoration Technician to support our mission of helping families and businesses recover after disaster strikes. For nearly 40 years, we’ve provided top-tier water damage restoration, mold remediation, hoarding and biohazard cleanup, and more across the DC Metro area.
Whether it’s a flooded home or a major cleanup, our technicians are on the front lines delivering fast, effective solutions with care and professionalism.
Main Office Location: Alexandria, VA
(Service territory includes DC, Maryland, and Virginia)
What You’ll Do
- Provide emergency restoration services for water damage, mold, and biohazard jobs
- Set up and monitor equipment such as dehumidifiers and air movers
- Follow job scopes and instructions provided by the Lead Technician or Crew Chief
- Remove unsalvageable materials and perform demolition/cleaning as needed
- Maintain jobsite cleanliness and safety
- Communicate clearly with customers and team members
- Document all work performed and report any issues or equipment malfunctions
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Reliable and punctual, with a clean and professional appearance
- Able to read and follow product usage labels and safety guidelines
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Prior experience in restoration, construction, or cleaning is a plus, but not required

Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing
- Ability to work in confined spaces such as crawlspaces and attics
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions (heat, cold, dust, etc.)
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle and travel to job sites
