Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, gymnasiums, and other school facilities.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish floors and surfaces.
- Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste properly.
- Clean windows, doors, walls, and furniture as needed.
- Replenish restroom and custodial supplies.
- Set up and arrange furniture, equipment, and materials for school events and activities.
- Monitor building security by locking and unlocking doors and securing facilities as assigned.
- Follow established safety procedures and properly use cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Respond promptly to spills, emergencies, and custodial service requests.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisors when replenishment is needed.
- Support a positive and professional school environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- MUST PASS Background and Drug Screening.
- Previous custodial, janitorial, or maintenance experience preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
- Ability to operate custodial equipment safely and effectively.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to push and pull custodial equipment and supplies.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
