Service Writer / Management Trainee

We are a busy independent Japanese auto repair shop seeking a Service Writer / Management Trainee to join our team. We specialize in servicing all major Japanese brands and are looking for someone who can provide excellent customer service, stay organized in a fast-paced environment, and grow into a long-term leadership role within the business.

This position will begin with a focus on service writing, customer communication, scheduling appointments, entering repair requests, preparing estimates, updating customers, and coordinating with technicians. Over time, the right candidate will be trained to take on increasing responsibility in front-office management, service lane coordination, and shop operations.

Responsibilities

• Warmly Greet customers and answer phones while building strong rapport
• Schedule appointments and manage the daily service calendar
• Enter customer concerns and repair requests into the shop system
• Communicate with customers and technicians regarding repair needs and vehicle status
• Prepare and discuss service estimates
• Keep repair orders organized and help manage front-office workflow
• Support invoicing, payments, and customer follow-up
• Learn the business and grow into a future management role overseeing the front office and service lane

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Good computer and organizational skills
• Professional, dependable, and detail-oriented
• Automotive service knowledge preferred
• Service writer or service advisor experience is a plus
• Interest in growing into management
• Valid driver’s license required
