Overview:
This is a hands-on leadership role. Unlike a traditional supervisor position, the Crane Assembly Supervisor is expected to actively participate in assembly operations while leading the team. The successful candidate will spend time both supervising employees and working alongside them to support safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery goals.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise daily operations in the crane assembly department.
- Perform hands-on assembly work to meet production goals.
- Coordinate work schedules, job assignments, workflow, and production timelines.
- Promote and enforce safety practices, continuous improvement, and efficient shop processes.
- Ensure all work meets quality standards, tolerances, and inspection requirements.
- Train, coach, and evaluate team members to support skill development and performance.
- Partner with engineering and production teams to solve fabrication challenges.
Qualifications:
- 3 or more years of experience in assembly.
- 2 or more years of lead or supervisory experience preferred.
- Ability to enforce safety regulations and maintain a safe work environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Strong mechanical and hydraulic knowledge.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement knowledge is a plus.
