Performs truck repair, maintenance work in accordance with industry standards, run diagnostics on vehicles and work closely with other team members to meet company goals.
Perform minor repairs on trucks and trailers
Perform a truck and trailer brake job, which includes a complete tear down, parts needs analysis and reassembly of trailer brake and wheel end components.
Perform regular diagnostic tests on trucks
Trouble shoot and repair trailer light and electrical problems with minimal supervision
Trouble shoot and repair brake air system (including ABS) complaints with minimal supervision
Maintain accurate records of each repair performed on vehicles
Operate a tractor on the yard as required to move trailers to and from the shop area, yard, and inspection areas.
Perform truck and trailers inspections
Other duties as needed
Must have experience doing tractor/trailer mechanic repairs
Must have required hand tools.
Must possess a valid license
Must have the ability to operate a tractor/trailer combination in close quarters
Must be able to follow Service Transport Compnay policies and guidelines in regards to acceptable conduct when dealing with fellow managers, employees, and vendors
*EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE*
Must have a high school education or GED.
Min. 1 yr. Diesel Mechanic work experience or a recent graduate from a diesel engine program
Must be able to follow Service Transport Company policies and guidelines in regards to acceptable conduct when dealing with fellow managers, employees, and vendors.
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time on concrete.
