Job Title: Utility Worker - School Facilities
Position Overview:SMG is seeking a reliable and versatile Utility Worker to support multiple school properties as directed by the SMG management team and facilities staff. This role involves performing specialty projects, responding to work order requests, assisting with event set-ups, and supporting general maintenance activities across all campuses.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist with specialty projects and maintenance tasks as assigned by management or facilities team.
Respond promptly to work order requests related to building maintenance, repairs, and general facilities support.
Support event set-up and breakdown, including moving furniture, staging, and other logistical tasks.
Perform routine inspections and minor repairs to ensure the safe and functional operation of school facilities.
Assist with light groundskeeping and seasonal tasks as needed.
Support emergency response efforts and perform other duties necessary for maintaining a safe environment.
Working Conditions:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various settings, including indoor and outdoor environments.
Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, or during special events.
Work may involve physical tasks such as moving equipment, setting up event spaces, and minor repairs.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Prior experience in facilities, maintenance, or custodial work preferred but not required.
Valid driver’s license.
