Job Description for Branch Manager

Classification: Nonexempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act

Salary/Pay Grade: annual base salary (plus bonuses and benefits pay)

Purpose:

To maintain a well-run and profitable office. To develop the knowledge and skills of employees professionally and personally; to diagnose trends, anticipate difficulties and initiate prompt corrective action when needed. To recognize and communicate (with employees) the company’s effort to succeed in a competitive industry.

Direct Report: District Supervisor

Principle Functions of Job: Responsible for performing the following under the direction of the District Supervisor:

Applying office lending and collection practices in accordance with state and federal regulations as well as Company policy. Actively providing and ensuring superior customer service with an emphasis on customer retention by showing knowledge of position, patience, courtesy, and respect. Train and develop the skills of the staff. Observing established Company policies and procedures.

Duties of Job:

Responsible for making decisions on applications of individuals applying for a loan.

Maintains a thorough knowledge of loan closing requirements – charges, payment schedules, refunding method and disclosure requirements.

Processes payments and maintains up-to-date customer information in the computer system.

Helps office reach daily and monthly performance goals by consistently offering renewals and selling referrals.

Communicates (by phone, text, letter) with delinquent customers to resolve delinquency. Traces debtors who change residence without notifying creditors to evade payment of bills (skips.) Determines and implements daily office collection plan.

Maintains individual (balanced) cash drawer and monitors the cash drawers of office employees, as well as safeguarding the office checkbook and keeping the running balance accurate. Records office performance and reports results to Supervisor. Keeps Supervisor informed of progress and problems.

Directly supervises all employees in the office. Determines employees work schedules and composition of duties. Monitors the progress of delegate assignments. Ensure complete compliance with all State and Federal regulations as well as Company policy including but not limited to Fair Debt Collection Practices and Unfair Deceptive Abusive Acts or Practices policies and compliance procedures.

Assists in the training, development and motivation of employees.

Maintains the cleanliness and organization of office.

Requirements of Job:

Must have adequate knowledge of the industry.

Has the ability and desire to quickly learn new job-related information.

A self-starter, working well without close supervision.

Identifies problems, gathers data, and develops courses of actions.

Can establish priorities and an action plan for handling multiple tasks.

Assigns decision making and other responsibilities to subordinates effectively.

Helps coworkers qualify for future job opportunities.

Must demonstrate flexibility in regards to assignments and scheduling including overtime.

Displays the knowledge and skills required to manage a profitable installment loan office.

Maintains a productive, professional, clean, noise free work environment for oneself and others.

Has the ability to greet customers at the front door by standing up from desk area and walking to the lobby.

Has no issues with working beyond 40 hours weekly in order to get the job done, including occasional Saturdays

Maintain reliable transportation and insurance coverage in order to travel on job when needed. Must have a valid Driver’s License and maintain a clean driving record.

The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
