Service 1 Federal Credit Union is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, knowledgeable Loan Originator (full-time). The Loan Originator will be responsible for acting as a liaison between loan applicants and underwriters to ensure members receive the best financial solutions to fit their unique needs. Applicants should possess strong organizational abilities, excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude. Essential functions include:
· Responsible for initiating the loan process by gathering essential member information, engaging in conversations regarding lending options and member financial goals. Work closely with members to identify and recommend lending products and services.
· Ability to identify and cross-sell ancillary products on loans to help protect the loan, including debt protection, GAP & MRC.
· Input loan data into the system while verifying accuracy and completeness.
· Gather and evaluate all lending related information and documentation for loan requests that will be submitted to underwriting.
· Answer questions for members throughout the application process. Explain loan options, products, interest rates, as well as the loan process and what to expect during the application process.
· Work closely with the loan processing department to coordinate loan package and closing details.
· Open virtual accounts and memberships as needed, primarily in relation to new loan accounts. Prepare and present disclosures and account information to the member as it relates to their account.
· Review and maintain pending loan application queue to identify and work loan leads and opportunities in a timely manner to ensure an exceptional member experience.
· Follow-up on existing applications to check status and ensure loan finalization, as needed.
· Assist members with the lending process by answering questions and responding to requests.
· Collaborate with Loan Processors and Underwriters to ensure an efficient loan process and guide members through the origination process.
· Perform other duties as needed.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- 1-3 years of lending experience (preferred)

- Thorough understanding of financial products and services
- Ability to multi-task and make independent decisions
- Ability to analyze and research information to determine a solution
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to present oneself as well as Service 1 FCU in a professional manner
