Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Chief Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in building systems and maintenance, ensuring the efficient operation of all facility-related equipment. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members to maintain a safe and functional environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections of building systems, including HVAC/R, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various equipment and systems, utilizing knowledge of hydraulics and industrial maintenance practices.
- Analyze schematics and technical drawings to troubleshoot issues effectively and implement solutions.
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for tracking work orders, inventory, and maintenance schedules.
- Engage in technical sales activities as needed, providing insights on system upgrades or replacements.
- Execute stick welding tasks as required for repairs or modifications to building structures.
- Collaborate with other engineers and maintenance staff to coordinate projects and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report any significant issues to management promptly.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in building engineering or related fields with a strong mechanical knowledge base.
- Familiarity with low voltage systems is preferred.
- Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions quickly.
- Experience with HVAC/R systems is essential; additional knowledge in hydraulics is a plus.
- Proficient in using CMMS software for maintenance management.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Certification or training in relevant technical fields is advantageous but not mandatory.
