Responsibilities
- Decorate cakes and desserts with intricate designs, themes, and personalized touches using various piping techniques, fondant, and edible decorations
- Ensure all cakes meet quality standards for appearance, taste, and freshness before serving or delivery
- Prepare and assemble cakes according to recipes and customer specifications, maintaining high standards of food presentation
- Package finished products carefully to prevent damage during transport or storage
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the decorating station and kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as baking, icing, and portioning ingredients when needed
- Provide excellent customer service by discussing design options and ensuring customer satisfaction with finished products
Qualifications
- Proven experience in cake decorating, pastry arts, or a related culinary field is preferred
- Strong skills in cake decorating techniques including piping, fondant work, airbrushing, and sculpting
- Knowledge of food handling safety practices and proper sanitation procedures
- Experience in food production, baking, and general kitchen operations within the food industry or restaurant environment
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with baking tools and equipment
- Customer service-oriented mindset with clear communication skills
- Prior experience in catering or restaurant settings is a plus but not required
