About Serinus

Serinus Biosciences is an AI drug discovery company targeting the convergence of cancer signaling. Protein-protein interactions (PPIs) form the physical core of signaling networks that drive disease emergence and progression. Our Pep-to-Mol platform leverages recent advances in protein structure prediction and our proprietary PPI energetics database to convert any peptide binder, including the natural binding protein itself, to a potent small molecule inhibitor.

We have recently established a number of hit series for a previously undruggable PPI targets in under 4 months of development. Our lead program is a first-in-class PPI target with a market opportunity of >$20B (in the US alone) across a diverse set of lethal solid tumors. We operate at the cutting edge of AI, biology, and drug design to develop novel treatments for patients in need.

Founded by MIT graduates, Serinus Biosciences is supported by leading investors, including Illumina Ventures, Vertex Ventures, Y-Combinator, and Merck Digital Science Studios. Our work has been published in leading journals, including Science, Cell, Nature Biotechnology, and Cancer Cell. Our advisory board includes world-renowned researchers from the Broad Institute, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and UCSD. Join our team to help shape the next generation of cancer treatments!

About the role

We are looking to add a new member to our computational team. In this role, you will be at the intersection of cutting-edge machine learning, computational chemistry, and drug discovery. You'll work directly on our Pep-to-Mol platform alongside our experienced drug discovery team to transform the landscape of therapeutics, turning previously intractable PPI targets into viable drug candidates. The ideal candidate likely has a scientific background in the life and/or hard sciences, is deeply excited by the recent breakthroughs in biomolecular structure prediction (e.g. AlphaFold) and other approaches to understand and exploit biology using massive datasets, and enjoys bending computers to their will.

Your key responsibilities will include:

·      Execute computational workflows to analyze experimental results from our wet lab and process data from external resources.

·      Manage and optimize the company’s software infrastructure to enable rapid feedback loops between computational design and wet lab testing.

·      Contribute to the continuous improvement of our Pep-to-Mol platform through workflow automation and algorithm development.

·      Present findings to cross-functional teams and external stakeholders, translating complex computational insights into actionable drug discovery decisions.

About you

·      Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in computer science, data science, ML, or related field.

·      Advanced coursework in biological sciences, biophysics, biochemistry, or a closely related field.

·      Exceptional programming skills in Python, proficiency in bash scripting, and experience with standard software engineering practices.

·      Track record of working independently on scientific and/or technical projects.

·      Hands-on experience working with large-scale datasets and data management on cloud-based environments (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).

·      Collaborating to solve hard problems is better in-person. Candidates will be expected to work on-site in our NYC office (Manhattan).

The intangible

·      Impact-driven and motivated to cure human diseases.

·      Problem-solver who thrives in fast-paced environments.

·      Eager to move fast and contribute to the culture of a small team.

·      Open to giving and receiving feedback.

Big bonus

·      Prior experience with cheminformatics tools, using machine learning libraries, or running workflow execution infrastructure.

·      Prior experience designing or running bioinformatics workflows for analyzing omics data.

About the offer
