Duties
- Assist with the preparation and setup of construction sites, including unloading materials and organizing tools
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely to perform tasks such as cutting, drilling, and assembling structural components
- Support concrete work by mixing, pouring, finishing, and applying formwork for foundations, walls, and other structures
- Install rebar and metal studs according to blueprint specifications to reinforce concrete and framing elements
- Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate execution of tasks
- Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment while adhering to safety protocols at all times
- Support masonry, stucco application, roofing, renovation projects, and restoration efforts as needed
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge for operating tools and understanding equipment functions
- Construction estimating skills to assist in project planning and material requirements
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings or schematics
- Experience with concrete forming, pouring, cutting, finishing, and pumping techniques
- Knowledge of construction workplace safety regulations and adherence to safety protocols
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely when required for site tasks
- Skilled in carpentry including trim carpentry, frame carpentry, metal stud framing, and formwork construction
- Familiarity with masonry work such as bricklaying or stucco application
- Competence in using hand tools such as hammers, saws, drills alongside power tools like concrete mixers and cutters
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper ergonomics
- Experience working on diverse construction projects including renovation or restoration efforts
