Facilities Engineer
Baltimore, MD | On-Site
1st Shift | Monday–Friday
$80,000–$100,000 base salary
Our client, a well-established industrial and food manufacturing operation, is seeking a Facilities Engineer to lead facility maintenance, HVAC systems, and critical infrastructure across their Baltimore site. This role plays a key part in ensuring operational reliability, regulatory compliance, and a safe, well-maintained environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems including air handling units, exhaust fans, low-pressure boilers, condensing units, and evaporator units
- Manage and oversee service contracts for building and grounds maintenance (HVAC, landscaping, snow removal, forklifts, overhead doors, waste management)
- Coordinate annual inspections for critical systems such as boilers, backflow prevention, and elevators
- Monitor and document daily warehouse temperatures to support SQF compliance
- Respond to building system alerts (fire protection, cooler alarms) and support on-site emergency assessments
- Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment, including filter changes, belt replacements, and fan cleaning
- Maintain and improve PM schedules using the Limble CMMS platform in line with manufacturer recommendations
- Identify and propose facility upgrades to improve energy efficiency and reduce long-term maintenance costs
- Supervise janitorial staff in non-production areas
- Partner with Quality and Operations teams to ensure compliance with FDA, OSHA, GMP, HACCP, and SQF standards
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience managing or supporting an industrial facility
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain issues, root causes, and resolutions
- Experience managing vendors and negotiating service contracts
- Proven leadership ability with experience directing and motivating team members
- Food manufacturing or food processing experience preferred
