What are the responsibilities and job description for the Concrete Finisher position at Seretta - Florida?
Seretta Construction, a national leader in tilt-wall and commercial concrete construction, is seeking for Concrete Finishers. Qualified candidate should have a minimum of 2 years experience as a Finisher Helper.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible on smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete, such as floors, walks, sidewalks, roads, or curbs using a variety of hand and power tools.
- Align forms for sidewalks, curbs, or gutters; patch voids; and use saws to cut expansion joints.
- Placing and finishing of horizontal concrete.
- Vibration/strike-off/floating and finishing of concrete using a walk-behind trowel or a riding trowel. Some broom finish.
- Curing of concrete using curing compounds or wet curing methods.
- Use of highway straightedge, straightedge, jointers and edgers.
- Removing edges on expansion joints and sides.
- Signaling truck drivers and moving chutes to facilitate pouring concrete onto forms.
- Pour, level, and smooth concrete on a variety of surfaces including roads, sidewalks, curbs, and floors.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to follow instructions from supervisors and foremen.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work long hours.
- Ability to kneel for long periods.
- Knowledge of hand-held and power tools including power vibrators, polishers, cutting saws, and edging tools.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Finisher Helper.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing and working outside.
- A lot of night work and traveling is involved.
- Repeated standing, bending, pushing and pulling for a minimum of eight (8) hours a day.
