What are the responsibilities and job description for the Respiratory Therapist position at Serenity Oaks?
Overview
We service sub-acute care level patients. Experience with Sub-acute level of patients and Vent/trach are preferred.
Registered Respiratory Therapist:
- Provides direct patient care and implements a plan of respiratory care initiated by the registered nurse/physician.
- Provides accurate and timely documentation consistent with the plan of care.
- Performs and oversees oxygen therapy along with aerosols and humidification therapy.
- Performs and oversees ventilator and tracheotomy care including weaning.
- Helps order respiratory care supplies and maintains a list for the facility.
- Participates in patient and family education for discharge to home.
- Reporting the identified needs to the registered nurse and/or Clinical Supervisor.
- Utilizes all available resources in planning care and consults as needed with RN’s, medical staff, outside specialists or consultants, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Continuously reviews, evaluates, and documents the effectiveness of nursing care, and accomplishment of client goals for discharge.
Performs other duties as assigned by the registered nurse and/or Clinical Supervisor.
8-hr FT day shift -10:30am to 7:00pm.
Job Type: Full Time days/weekends availability
Compensation is based on experience. Must be RRT Licensed.
