Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including intake evaluations and diagnostic formulation using DSM V coding systems.
- Deliver individual, and family counseling sessions utilizing therapeutic modalities that you are comfortably trained in.
- Implement crisis management strategies to ensure patient safety during acute episodes or emergencies.
- Develop personalized treatment plans, and monitor progress through ongoing documentation.
- Engage in clinical research activities to support evidence-based practice improvements and contribute to data collection efforts.
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant medical records and ensure accurate medical documentation using DSM coding standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, special education professionals, medical staff, and case managers to optimize patient care outcomes.
Requirements
- Valid licensure as a Mental Health Professional (e.g., LPCC, LMFT, LICSW) in Minnesota.
- Proven experience in clinical counseling within outpatient, inpatient, or hospital settings.
- Strong knowledge of psychotherapy techniques such as motivational interviewing, behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and trauma-informed care including PTSD management.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to behavioral health and mental health diagnoses using the DSM V/ICD-10 coding systems.
- Experience working with children, individuals with disabilities—including autism—and diverse populations such as geriatrics or those facing gender issues counseling.
- Competence in crisis intervention strategies and behavior management techniques for managing acute episodes effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for conducting intake assessments, patient education, and collaborating with healthcare teams.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality and security of medical records and patient information.
Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour
