Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide high-quality support and assistance to individuals in assisted living. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the well-being, safety, and independence of clients through personalized care. This role involves assisting with daily activities, monitoring health status, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for residents with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, dementia, or recovering from illness. Prior experience in long-term care or home & community care is highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide patient observation and monitor vital signs to ensure safety and health status
- Administer medication following care plans and HIPAA regulations
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary
- Support residents with Alzheimer's, dementia, or memory care needs through specialized techniques and compassionate engagement
- Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and perform heavy lifting safely when required
- Maintain cleanliness of living spaces by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and sanitation
- Document patient care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards
- Follow prescribed care plans developed by healthcare professionals or social workers
- Respond promptly to emergencies or changes in patient condition using CPR or first aid skills when necessary
- Support social engagement activities to promote mental well-being and community involvement
Qualifications
- Prior experience in senior care, home health, hospice, assisted living, or group home settings preferred
- Knowledge of patient monitoring, vital signs measurement, medication administration, and dementia or Alzheimer's care techniques
- Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are highly desirable
- Strong communication skills and patience when working with diverse populations
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with transfers using Hoyer lifts or Understanding ADLs
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve clients' quality of life
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; previous experience in long-term or home & community care is advantageous
