Serenity Hospice Pennsylvania is seeking a dedicated and compassionate On-Call Registered Nurse (RN) to join our growing team serving patients and families throughout Wyoming Valley.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced RN seeking a rewarding career in hospice care with a predictable 7-days-on/7-days-off schedule. Schedule

• 7 days on / 7 days off

• Every other week off

During your scheduled week, you will provide after-hours clinical support, symptom management, and compassionate care to hospice patients and their families.

Position Summary

The Hospice On-Call Registered Nurse provides after-hours nursing support to hospice patients and their families throughout the Wyoming Valley service area. This position is responsible for triaging calls, responding to urgent clinical needs, conducting on-call visits, managing symptoms, and coordinating care to ensure patients receive safe, compassionate, and individualized care.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to after-hours calls from patients, families, and caregivers.

• Conduct on-call visits to address symptom management and urgent patient needs.

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and implement appropriate interventions.

• Coordinate patient care with physicians and the interdisciplinary hospice team.

• Provide education and support to patients and caregivers regarding hospice services, medications, and symptom management.

• Complete timely and accurate electronic clinical documentation.

• Participate in rotating on-call coverage according to the assigned schedule.

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care that reflects the goals and wishes of each patient and family.

Qualifications

• Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) license.

• Minimum of one year of nursing experience required.

• Hospice, home health, oncology, ICU, emergency department, or medical-surgical experience preferred.

• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Compassionate approach to patient and family care.

• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance.
