Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Hospice Aide to join our team in providing exceptional end-of-life care to patients in their homes and care facilities. Responsibilities
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor patient condition through observation of vital signs and overall well-being, reporting any changes promptly
- Provide medication reminders and assist with medication administration under supervision, adhering to HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards
- Support patients with specialized care needs such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and hospice care protocols
- Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems to document patient interactions accurately and securely
- Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts, catheters, and other assistive devices safely and effectively
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks like laundry, cleaning, meal preparation, and ensuring infection control standards are met
Skills
- Strong ability to observe patient conditions carefully and report findings accurately
- Experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments
- Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation procedures within EHR/EMR systems
- Knowledge of hospice care principles, Alzheimer's disease management, dementia care, and memory support strategies
- Certified in CPR; additional certifications such as catheter care or medication administration are highly valued
- Compassionate caregiver with excellent communication skills working with people with disabilities or developmental disabilities
- Ability to handle physical tasks including lifting with Hoyer lifts and assisting with mobility safely
