Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and engaging Personal Care Caregiver to provide dedicated one-on-one support for a child in their home. This role goes beyond basic needs, focusing on creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that supports the child's physical, emotional, and cognitive development. Duties
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene needs.
- Supervision and Safety: Ensure the child's safety at all times by providing constant supervision and maintaining a secure, clean, and organized environment.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks, encouraging healthy eating habits.
- Engaging Activities: Plan and participate in age-appropriate educational and recreational activities (e.g., games, crafts, reading, outdoor play) to foster development and social skills
Skills
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age (21 or 25 may be preferred depending on specific program requirements).
- Prior experience working with children, preferably those with special needs or disabilities, is a plus.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance are required.
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain immediately upon hire).
- Ability to pass a comprehensive state (SLED) and federal background check and drug test.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient, compassionate, and empathetic demeanor.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to adapt to changing situations.
